An Evanjellicle Shares His Faith
We [Americans] like big, we like loud, and we like showy. We are an entertainment-addicted people, and so long as there is an appetite for spiritual things in us, we will prefer our spirituality mixed with spectacle.
---Jared Wilson
And here is probably a most unfortunate thing for people whose God is invisible, inscrutable and ineffable.

A little late for comment, but I can’t tell whether Jared is in favor of the “attractional church” or against it.
That is the irritating thing about Evanjellicles: they have this incoherence about them.
Well, I take that back, I suppose there are two things that irritate, the incoherence and the insistence on speaking when they themselves recognize that they don’t know what they are talking about.
“Properly nuanced, those major thoughts (and a few minor ones unmentioned) have informed my musings about the potential of an attractional tipping point. But it could be I have no idea what I’m talking about; thus today’s self-rejoinder.”
On a brighter note, it doesn’t really matter. Give them a minute and they will be struck with some other new insight not worth sharing. One incoherence will get trampled to death in a stampede of many incoherences.

Something to look forward to.
I don’t generally pay attention to TGC, or GTY for that matter, but stumbled across this:

Yikes!
Haven’t been following any of this, don’t know who Joshua Chavez is, and, so far as I know, no longer have any contact with anyone connected to it.
This is what happens when one’s house is not kept in order.
Looks like an excellent situation to stay upwind of.
